1. Overview

Event Name: 2025 International Seminar on Global Tourism Promotion
Hosted by: Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), UNWTO
Venue: BEXCO International Convention Center, Busan
Theme: Sustainable Tourism Industry and Global Cooperation Strategies

Participants:
Officials from international organizations such as UNWTO, OECD, and ASEAN; overseas tourism boards; domestic and international travel, aviation, and hotel industry professionals; local governments and tourism policy officials; ESG management experts; media representatives, etc.

Interpretation Goals:

  • Deliver tourism policy directions, market trends, investment strategies, and ESG issues accurately and naturally

  • Enhance real-time understanding among multinational participants and elevate the global standing of Korean tourism policy

Case 1 – Sustainable Tourism Session
Interpreted the session “Green Transition in Tourism Industry” presented by the Director of Sustainable Tourism at UNWTO.
→ Delivered terminology related to environmental policy, ESG management, and carbon-reduction technologies with clarity, enhancing policy comprehension.

Case 2 – Digital Tourism Innovation Session
Interpreted a joint presentation by a domestic ICT company and the Spanish Tourism Board on a smart-tourism-city collaboration project.
→ Ensured natural interpretation across technical, administrative, and industry-specific terminology, greatly improving participant satisfaction.

Case 3 – K-Content Tourism Session
Interpreted a session by cultural-industry experts on “Attracting Global Tourists Through K-Content.”
→ Clearly conveyed the linkage between performance, exhibition, content industries, and tourism policy, highlighting the strengths of Korea’s cultural-tourism model.

  • Supported the signing of MOUs for follow-up joint seminars with three overseas institutions
